A bold logo and website for Winnipeg's Ukrainian party band — an identity built for celebration and a site designed to convert visitors into bookings.
Budmo is a five-piece Ukrainian party band from Winnipeg — accordion, violin, bass, drums, and vocals — performing folk music blended with pop for weddings, corporate events, and festivals across Manitoba and beyond. The band had the talent and the bookings, but no visual identity that matched their energy on stage.
The brief was clear: a logo that feels celebratory and distinctly Ukrainian, and a website that tells the story quickly and makes it easy for event organisers to get in touch.
Approach
The logo was designed to carry the spirit of the band's name — "Budmo" is a Ukrainian toast, meaning "let us be" — with a mark that feels bold and celebratory without leaning on cliché folk ornamentation. The colour palette and type reflect the energy of a live performance: warm, confident, and built to read well across digital and print. The website was structured around the booking conversation — band story, performance reel, and a clear contact path — with the Manitoba map illustration grounding the regional identity and signalling pride of place.
"The new site gives us something we can actually send to venues when we're pitching. It looks professional, it tells the story quickly, and it makes it easy for people to get in touch. Exactly what we needed."
